Each tile begins as clay dug from the ground. The clay is folded, shaped and cut by hand before being biscuit fired in a kiln. The tiles are then glazed and fired again, producing colourful glazed tiles with subtle colour variation.
Because of this traditional process, every tile shows gentle differences in tone, surface and glaze. Each tile has a slight crackle which can be enhanced or diminished with grout choice. These natural variations give walls warmth and character that machine-made tiles cannot replicate.
