Ordering

There are 90 tiles per square meter and we suggest that you allow 10% extra for wastage while tiling. We recommend that you purchase a sample tile to give a clear indication of the tile's appearance before purchasing them in quantity. To put the tiles up you will need tile grout and tile adhesive. We recommend wide joint grout which comes in five colours: grey, limestone, white, sandstone and black. If you have a number of areas that need tiling, work out the square meter of each area and then add them together. If you want a mix of tiles, the easiest way to work out the amounts of each colour is as a percentage - for example, 30% mexican white and 70% mustard yellow will give you a predominance of mustard yellow. We recommend adding 10 to 15 percent to the total order to cover for wastage when tiling.

If there are doubts as to the suitability of the product we do advise purchasing a sample tile. We will replace goods if they arrive damaged upon receipt of photographic evidence. Characteristics
All dimensions are approximations, the size variation can be in excess of 1mm.

The colours and shade may differ from batch to batch due to the variations natural materials used, the glaze and  the firing temperature inside of the kiln. There is no guarantee that tiles received from different batches  orders will match or blend well with those original orders. When re-ordering it is important to check this first if it is important to you.

Surface several types of surface irregularities can occur these are normal and should be used as part of the tiling process.

Crazing and crackling of the glaze are inherent characteristics of hand-crafted tiles.

Crackling describes the appearance of cracks in the glaze surface.

Crazing describes a condition in which the tile may appear to have a tiny spider web of fractures in the glaze.

As with all tiles, hand made tiles can chip, nick or scratch. Tile edges may have slight chips. These should be used where cut tiles are required and the damaged edges can be discarded.

The tiles are rarely flat and may vary in thickness. Installers should use their eye to make aesthetic judgements and ideally be familiar with laying hand made tiles.

Ordering
Milagros is happy to help you work out the quantity of tiles you need.

Check that your tiles are suitable for the application intended.

Avoid delays when tiling and order 5 to 10% more for extra cuts, breakages and layout changes.

Colours shown on the website and printed publicity are not meant to be definitive. Photography and printing cannot reproduce colours exactly.

Wide joint grout is recommended as an average grout gap in excess of 3mm is normal. Our preference is for Ardex.

Installation
We recommend not setting a firm date for a tiler until your tiles have arrived and been checked.

Always check the tiles are correct on delivery. Do not leave this until the tiler is on site.

We do not advise sealing of our glazed tiles.

Use a tiler who has experience of laying hand made tiles. You may wish to confirm the layout of the tiles and  the size of the grout gap.

Rejection of tiles must be made prior to installation.

Installation of the tiles constitutes acceptance of these irregularities in them.

The tiles are not completely flat and account must be taken of this when setting them on the adhesive in order to give them a firm.

Milagros has experience of laying Mexican tiles and we are happy to provide advice and technical support.
